About me

Sauli Suomela (1969) lives and works as an artist and designer in Helsinki, Finland. He has graduated from the University of Art and Design Helsinki and works as a Design Director in his own design office Pentagon Design. Along running the daily design business as an entrepreneur, Suomela has worked in the field of glass art and fine art painting.

Suomela has won many prizes in the field of design and participated to numerous design and art exhibitions in Finland and abroad. The Finnish Association of Designers Ornamo has given him the title Designer of the year in 2010 which he shares with his colleague Arni Aromaa. In 2012 Pentagon Design was awarded by State Prize for Design. Suomela has art works e.g., in the Finnish State Art Deposit Collection and Finnish Glass Museum collections.
